Abigail Adams, in a letter to her husband, John, dated March 31, 1776, exhorted him to “Remember the Ladies.” Lecturer Joel Farkas will discuss women, like Abigail Adams, who defied expectations and those who made a difference in the war effort by fighting alongside the men, spying, and spreading the word. From the social mores and attitudes of the time to the impact that women had on the war effort.

Joel Farkas will give a historical perspective talk entitled "Remember the Ladies: Women of the American Revolution” on January 13. 3021, at 7:00 pm. Joel will address the story of the American Revolution through the role of women. Topics such as health and medicine during this period and the “first” First Ladies of America will also be discussed.

This will be a live and interactive virtual event. There will be Q&A and opportunities to share with others.

Mr. Farkas has lectured extensively on the American Revolution, including insights on George Washington, the Founding Fathers, the war in New Jersey, the lesser-known heroes of the Revolution, and the current talk about the role and impact of women during the war.

Join us to learn about this shadowy, little reported era of history and its footprint here in Monmouth County and elsewhere in New Jersey.

This free event is open to the public and will take place online on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Instructions and the link to the event will be sent to all registered guests.
